Rides & Events

Check this page often for updated listings of cycling rides & events in and around our area.
Rides require, at minimum, an appropriate bike in good working order, daytime riding lights, water, and a helmet. We suggest a spare tube, energy food, maybe a little cash in case we stop, and your biggest smile! Rides are held subject to weather. It's a good idea to confirm dates, time and any  specific requirements, too. Updates are posted to our Fb page. We'll see you out there and have fun!

Join us for our Saturday morning shop ride! It is a "no drop" ride. The store will open 30 minutes prior to the ride. There will be one group 16 mph +/- average speed. We will stop at turns, so that riders can regroup. Rides are typically on country roads in upper Montgomery, Eastern Frederick, Western Howard & Southern Carrol Counties. Road or gravel bikes & helmets are required. For the enjoyment of all riders, please be sure you can maintain at least 15+ mph. We hope you are able to join us for the one of our rides this summer. For more information or details, please call us at the shop at 301-253-5800, or email us at aabikes@aol.com   NOTE: Our ride/no-ride policy is 40^+ and no precipitation at time ride starts.  Overnight temperatures must be above freezing, so that we can avoid "black ice".

Saturday No-Drop Virtual Road Ride on Zwift

When the weather turns too cold or rainy, we take our rides indoors. Join our Zwift cycling club AABC Saturday Shop Ride and join the weekly ride. The ride goes from 8am - 10am.  You can join for all or part of the ride. It is structured as a "no drop" ride for everyone (E) to participate in.  There is a "fence" so speedy riders won't get too far ahead.  There is also a "rubber band" effect, so as long as you keep pedaling with the group you will be able to keep up.

To participate in our ride, you will need to join our "AABC Saturday Shop Ride" Zwift club. Click on or copy/paste/click the link below.

If you don't have a "smart trainer" stop by the store for a complementary demo. You can try it in store.   You can also rent a "wheel on" smart trainer and try Zwift for a week for free to see how you like it.
