Saturday No-Drop Ride (Shop Ride):
Join us for our Saturday morning shop ride! It is a "no drop" ride. The store will open 30 minutes prior to the ride. There will be two groups, group A is 16 mph+ and group B 16 mph- average speed. Each group will stop at turns, so that riders can regroup. Rides are typically on country roads in upper Montgomery, Eastern Frederick, Western Howard & Southern Carrol Counties. Road bikes & helmets are required. For the enjoyment of all riders, please be sure you can maintain at least 16 mph for the A group & 13mph for the B group. We hope you are able to join us for the one of our rides this summer. For more information or details, please call us at the shop at 301-253-5800, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org NOTE: Our ride/no-ride policy is 40^+ and no precipitation at time ride starts. Overnight temperatures must be above freezing, so that we can avoid "black ice".
Wednesday Red Cork Ride:
This ride will be taken place every Wednesday thru the summer (weather permiting). The ride will leave from the shop at 5:30pm and should be done around 7:30pm (total distance aprox 40 miles). We will do the following route: Strava Route. There will a 4 hill "segments" of varying length and 1 sprint "segment" per lap (3 1/2 laps total). The tempo between ssegments will be a "recovery" pace, to let riders regroup. This is not a race, so there will be no "breakaways" and riders must observe all posted traffic signs (that means stop at stop signs). At the end of the ride we will have a finishing sprint. The winner of the finishing sprint will receive the the coveted Red Cork. The winner of the red cork must ride the following week or pass the cork to the second place finisher.
Saturday Morning Mountain Bike Ride (Call the shop or check us out on Facebook for scheduling):
There are many great trails within riding distance of our store (Little Bennett, Magruder Trail & Patuxent River State Park to name a few). Ride meets every Saturday at the bike store, weather permitting, time and route varies week to week. There are several routes that we can choose from, depending on the size and fitness level of the group. Helmets are required. Children must be at least 13 years old and have adult supervision. NOTE: Mountain bike rides will start when trail conditions permit (ground must be firm, so that we don't degrade trail systems)
